Walk: Lyme Park Circular Walk
Start Point: Lyme Park car park Grid Reference: SJ 862 823
Distance: 6.4 miles Ascent: 850 feet
Time: 3 hours
Weather: Very hot, 34 degrees
Comments: After a difficult journey around the east side of Manchester to Lyme Park, we found welcome shade to eat our lunch before starting the walk. The terrain varied from stoned tracks to field paths and a short section of road.

The shade was very welcome as we walked through Knights Low

The Bow Stones . . .

with nearby information

Bollinhurst Reservoir looking towards The Cage . . .

which was built in 1524 and was rebuilt in the 1730s as part of Giacomo Leoni’s works to the house.

Lyme Park will be recognised as the location of Mr Darcy's Pemberley estate, and the lake as the setting for his famous dip.
